Middle and High School Students End First Week with a Strong Beat and an Inspiring Message

The first week of school for Tri-County R-7 middle and high school students ended with a good, strong drumbeat and an even stronger message of hope and encouragement!

Thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor, Quinton Cox and Company, a country rock band, performed for students and staff. In addition to sharing their music, the band members shared personal stories about the journeys that brought them to where they are today.

Members spoke honestly about challenges and obstacles they have faced throughout their lives, including discouragement, depression, addiction, alcohol struggles, and physical disabilities. Through their stories, they shared an important message with students: Keep going. No matter what comes your way, keep going.

Students and faculty were also reminded of the importance of checking on friends and family members now—not waiting until there is a problem. Everyone faces difficulties, struggles, and hurdles at different points in life, and sometimes a simple conversation, encouragement, or act of kindness can make a meaningful difference.

The band’s uplifting message of perseverance and hope reminded everyone in attendance that difficult times do not define the rest of our story. Their willingness to share how they worked through challenging moments provided an encouraging message of hope to all who attended.
