Tri-County R-7 middle and high school students wrapped up the semester with an exciting and meaningful Social Emotional Learning (SEL) activity planned and hosted by the district’s dedicated teachers and staff. The event took place on the last day of the semester, an early dismissal day just before Christmas break, giving students a fun and memorable way to celebrate the end of the term.
The SEL activity featured a variety of engaging games designed to promote teamwork, positive relationships, and healthy competition. All students began the games together, with a few participants being eliminated during each round until only one middle school student and one high school student remained. The final winners were rewarded for their perseverance and sportsmanship, each taking home a $50 prize.
In addition to the games, attendance was also celebrated during the event. Students who maintained 95% or higher attendance for the semester were treated to a refreshing Sonic drink as a reward for their commitment to being present and engaged at school.
Attendance achievements were especially strong among certain grade levels. The 6th grade class earned the highest attendance among middle school students, while the freshmen led the way in the high school. They had ice cream for dessert as a reward for their hard work.
The SEL activity was a positive and energetic way to end the semester, allowing students to relax, connect with peers, and be recognized for both participation and responsibility. Events like this highlight Tri-County R-7’s commitment to fostering not only academic success, but also the social and emotional well-being of its students.
